Jumping into my Own

There was a time in my life when I felt that pleasing oneself was selfish and wrong.  I did not realize that the only wrong there, was just that specific train of thought.

I am not talking about making decisions or taking actions that we know will deliberately hurt others without any concerns or regards for their feelings.  But I am talking about being aware that taking into consideration our own needs and feelings is just as important and even more so.

I´ve been slowly and painfuly learning to let go of the shoulds and musts that I have imposed upon myself.  Not just taking responsibility for my actions but also refusing – without guilt – to take on anybody else’s. Setting limits, boundaries and jumping straight out into myself for once.

Style Info

This dress although different is slightly evocative of the genius of Saint Laurent and his Safari look of 1968 (years after Le Smoking and before his Russian inspired collection) as worn by the cooler than thou and muse to his genius Betty Catroux and then it girl about town Comtesse Vera Gottlieb von Lehndorff, otherwise known as the great Verushka!  With cuffed sleeves and a sash around the lower hip, its allure is found in its simplicity. Available in several colors.
